An Acts 29 Prayer Encounter with Dr. Terry Teykl

Join us on Saturday, April 28 from 9am-2pm. Registration with coffee and danish at 8:30 am. Cost is $10 per person and includes all materials and a light lunch. The seminar will teach you about personal prayer, building a praying church, tools and practical ways to claim a city for Christ; and to seek God for who He is, not just for what He does for us. To register call or email Stroudsburg UMC - 570-421-6020 or sumc@stroudsburgumc.com Registration forms are available in the back of the sanctuary as well. Many helpers will be needed to prepare for this event, including a team of people to clean the church beforehand. The day of the event we need greeters for both doors, registration table helpers, ushers, food servers, cookie bakers and much more. Please sign up - name and phone number on the list in the back of the church or drop the connection part from the bulletin into the offering plate. Everyone can be praying for this event.

This conference is specifically focused to teach congregations how to accomplish church growth and expand our influence in the local community. This is especially beneficial to every church leader as well as all members. Please be in attendance if at all possible. Go to "Terry Teykl U-Tube" to view Event Promotional 3:52 minutes and the one on prayer boxes. Very informative. - JoAnn Calkins

Property & Building Update

The Property & Building team is planning another work day tomorrow, April 21 - 8-1. The team will be painting, fixing ceiling tiles, addressing wallpaper issues and removing the old A/C unit. All work will be done upstairs since the book sale will be going on in the Dining Room and Scout Room. Donations to cover costs would be appreciated. Any questions, please contact Dick Seip. Thank you!

Guest soloists will be tenor Erik Sparks and baritone Daniel Hoy. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students. The Pocono Concert Chorale is dedicated to quality performances of outstanding choral music in the Poconos. Prayer Mail Boxes

A prayer mail box will soon be appearing near the front steps of the church and in the courtyard at the elevator entrance. The purpose is to have anyone drop a prayer request in the box. These requests can be anonymous or with a first name only, the locked section of the mail box will provide privacy. There will be directions on how to use it mounted with the box. These requests will be gathered daily and a prayer minister will pray over them; other distributions on prayer lists are being developed. We are needing more prayer ministers, so pray about you becoming one. Training will be offered. Call the church office or contact JoAnn Calkins at carotjce@ptd.net or 570-402-1210. Donations toward the cost of the two prayer mail boxes would be appreciated. Please place your donation marked for "Prayer Mail Box" in the offering plate.

Sanctuary Open for Prayer

The church sanctuary is open to the public for prayer and/or quiet reflection on Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm. You are invited to take advantage of this time if you are in town during the week, and please let your friends know also. Years ago churches were open during the week for anyone to wander in to pray, however now, because of safety concerns, most churches stay locked. We would like the community to know we are an active and "alive" church and offer this opportunity to anyone who needs a quiet space, even if it is only for one hour a week. Please share with your friends and family.

Open Office Hours Update

Please call (570-421-6020) or email the church office (sumc@stroudsburgumc.com) to schedule a time to meet with Pastor Bob on Wednesday's between 11:30am & 1:30pm. Thank you!

Completed order forms and payment may be left in the box outside Jackie's office or placed in the offering plate. Please contact the church office with any questions.
