This Sunday

This Sunday we'll hear scripture from John 1:43-51 and Pastor Bob's sermon title is "Following God's Call is Not Always Clear." Hope to see you Sunday!

2018 Offering Envelopes

2018 offering envelopes are in the Fellowship Room. Please pick up your box of envelopes after services on Sunday or stop by the church office during the week. It would be appreciated if you could take a box to a neighbor or friend who cannot make it to church.

2018 Altar Flower Chart and Church Calendar

The 2018 Altar Flower Chart is up in the Fellowship Room. Please consider putting flowers on the altar in honor of or in memory of a special person or event. Please remember to indicate whether or not you will take the flowers or if you would like them to go to shut-ins. Please note your events and meetings on the calendar outside the conference room. Thank you!

Children's bulletins are available at the back of the sanctuary. There are two groups - ages 3-6 and ages 7-12.

Worship Leaders are Needed!

Sunday School Teachers are Needed!

We are desperately in need of Sunday School teachers. Please prayerfully consider volunteering and contact Jeff Weber if you can help. Thank you!

Our Special Person of the Week:

Jean Warner, Spring Village at Pocono, 329 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Please remember her in prayer and if possible, please send a card.

Sanctuary Open for Prayer

The church sanctuary is open to the public for prayer and/or quiet reflection on Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm. You are invited to take advantage of this time if you are in town during the week, and please let your friends know also. Years ago churches were open during the week for anyone to wander in to pray, however now, because of safety concerns, most churches stay locked. We would like the community to know we are an active and "alive" church and offer this opportunity to anyone who needs a quiet space, even if it is only for one hour a week. Please share with your friends and family.

Open Office Hours Update

Please call (570-421-6020) or email the church office ( to schedule a time to meet with Pastor Bob on Wednesday's between 11:30am & 1:30pm. Thank you!

Pet names can be added, too! Order forms are in the back of the sanctuary. Please make your check payable to SUMC and note for "Memorial Tree Leaf" in the memo portion. Completed order forms and payment may be left in the box outside Jackie's office or placed in the offering plate. Please contact the church office with any questions. Proceeds from the sale of memorial leaves will be put toward the remaining bell tower repair bill. Thank you!

Pocono Concert Chorale

Tenor and basses are welcome to attend "open house" rehearsals of the Pocono Concert Chorale on Tuesday, January 23, 7-9 pm at First Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Stroudsburg. M & E Tract Program

There is a new series of tracts available to encourage the BELIEVER. Look for them. Read the Bible in a Year, believers cards for the sick and many more. Put them in cards and correspondence, in envelopes when paying a bill, put one in the pocket of clothing you are giving away, leave one in the laundromat or public restroom. Remember do not clutter or leave more than one or two in one spot. To obtain them, there are three stands available - one in the front entrance of church (narthex), in the elevator foyer (on main floor), and one in the dining room downstairs. They are put out during after church fellowship and at other church events. If there is a particular one you like and would like a personal packet of them, you can find the address and phone number on the back page. They are inexpensive and effective witness. Thank you for participating in this "Silent Missionary" mission. This project is a service of the Membership & Evangelism Committee.
