Gather

This Sunday

This Sunday is Transfiguration Sunday and we enter the Lenten season this week. We'll listen to scripture from Matthew 17:1-9 and Pastor Bob's sermon title will be "Leaving the Mountain". Our Cherub Choir will be providing special music at both services and we'll have a speaker from the Re-entry Program of Monroe County at both services as a moment for missions. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Weekly sermons at SUMC

Do you enjoy listening to the weekly sermons here at SUMC? Would you like to listen to them even when you are on vacation or out of town? Well, we do have all the sermons available for you to listen to and they are typically posted to our church website each Sunday. And if you have an iPod or iPad, you can subscribe to the sermons so they will automatically be downloaded to your device for easy listening! To sign up for the automatic feed, go to our sermon page: http://www.stroudsburgumc.com/SUMCNeweSermons.html and then click on the iTunes logo. This will connect you to our iTunes page where you can listen to the sermons or view them in iTunes where you can sign up for the automatic feed. Share this link with your friends and family members. We hope you enjoy this way of staying connected to our sermons here at SUMC.

Sunday School Teachers Needed

We are in desperate need of Sunday School teachers. Please prayerfully consider volunteering to teach Sunday School to our children and youth here at SUMC! If you can help out please contact Jeff Weber and let him know. Thank you!

Volunteer Needed on Mondays Here in Our Church

A volunteer is needed to come into the church on Mondays and check the kitchen downstairs to be sure items on the kitchen checklist have been completed and the kitchen is in good condition for the next soup kitchen group. If you're interested in helping out please contact Beryl or the church office. Thank you!

Our Special Member of the Week:

Anne Grant, Pleasant Valley Manor, Room 204, 4227 Manor Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Please remember her in prayer and if possible, please send a card.

Address for Janet Woolever

Janet Woolever is staying in Bethlehem while her apartment in Stroudsburg is being renovated. Janet misses her church family and would really appreciate hearing from you. Her address is Janet Woolever, c/o Extended Stay America, Room 133, 3050 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Please keep Janet and her dog, Emmi in your prayers. Thank you.

Sanctuary Open for Prayer

The church sanctuary is open to the public for prayer and/or quiet reflection on Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm. You are invited to take advantage of this time if you are in town during the week, and please let your friends know also. Years ago churches were open during the week for anyone to wander in to pray, however now, because of safety concerns, most churches stay locked. We would like the community to know we are an active and "alive" church and offer this opportunity to anyone who needs a quiet space, even if it is only for one hour a week. Please share with your friends and family.

New Member Class Starts This Sunday

A new member class will held this Sunday at 9:45 am in the classroom upstairs directly above the Fellowship Room. If you have an interested in joining SUMC as an offical member, please try and attend the class today and next week.
