Gather

Palm Sunday

Kick off Palm Sunday like a donkey!? This Sunday we will have Velamint the miniature donkey in worship to help us celebrate Palm Sunday. This was Jesus' triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem and was the beginning of what we now call Holy Week. The Handbell Choir will be playing and the Choir will be singing. We will also celebrate Holy Communion. Join us this Sunday to kick off Holy Week!

SUMC Church Softball Team

We are trying to start a softball team from our church again. It's been some years since SUMC had a softball team, but there is growing interest to start a team again to play in our local church softball league. Anyone, male and female, 16 years and older (with parent's permission for 16 & 17 year olds) is eligible to play on the team. Friends of the church are eligible too, so spread the word! This is a great opportunity to stay physically active, share in some good times with each other and get to know the people in other churches. It will be fun! If you are interested, please sign up on the sheet in the back of the sanctuary or contact the church office. Note: For those people who already signed up, there will be practice at Zacharias Pond field tomorrow, Saturday, March 31 at noon. If you don't know where Zacharias Pond is, please be at the church no later than 11:20 am to follow other teammates to the field. If practice is canceled due to rain, Bob Cool will call everyone.

UMM Breakfast

United Methodist Men will be serving breakfast next Sunday after the Sunrise Service and for the Choir in between services. Any help from willing men would be appreciated. There will not be a UMM breakfast in April due to the book sale.

You will be able to see brief description of each Small Group, view when and where they meet, and see if there are openings to join the groups. Check out our active Small Groups and consider joining one of them. Alternatively, do you have a passion or interest? Then maybe you can start a brand new Small Group. Contact JoAnn Calkins or Pastor Bob for more information.

Digging Deeper Small Group

The Digging Deeper Small Group meets on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. Meetings will resume on October 25 in the Conference Room beside Pastor Bob's study. This group will be starting a new video series entitled, "Keep Climbing: Why God Doesn't Give You Everything You Want."  This Small Group exists to dig deeper into our faith and grow spiritually. We do this through study, sharing our stories and experiences with each other, and hold each other up in love and mutual accountability. You can join this Small Group by emailing the leader, Pastor Bob, or calling the church office.

Give to a Mission

A variety of missions are supported in our church. You can make a difference both locally and around the world by giving to these missions. A list of missions we support is available in the back of the sanctuary. You can also suggest a new mission that interests you by providing the name and address of the mission, as well as some details about what this particular mission does.

Stewardship

Pledge cards are located at the back of the sanctuary along with 2012 offering envelopes. If you can deliver a box to a friend or neighbor who cannot make it to church, that would be appreciated!

Church Picture Calendar

UMW is planning to make a "Church Picture Calendar" to sell at the Holiday Boutique in November. They are asking for pictures from the congregation for each month of the year. If you have a photo you would like to see in the calendar submit it Ruth Weber or Joni Singer. A committee will judge which ones will be used. Pictures need to be submitted by May 30th. Orders will be taken and can be picked up at the Holiday Boutique on November 3rd.
