Upcoming Sermon Series

Our upcoming Sermon Series will be different, fun, and spiritually engaging! These sermons will focus on God in the movies--some recent and some from years ago. We will see some clips from these movies and talk about what we see. This should offer an exciting and engaging way for us to talk about important theological issues regarding our relationship with God in today's terms. The sermon series will also be an easy way for us to ask important religious questions in non-threatening and even non-churchy ways. Help us spread the word about our upcoming sermon series: God in the Movies. And be sure to invite a friend to come with you!

Baptism on Sunday!

Evan Jacob Hardy, son of Bill and Natalie Hardy, will be baptized this coming Sunday at the 11am worship experience. Join us in this very special celebration and be sure to greet the family and introduce yourselves to them. The Hardy's are new members who joined the church recently and are already very active.

Any Interest in a Daily Study Guide?

Some churches use a part of their bulletin for worshippers to take notes during the sermon. One of our goals in worship is to teach new ideas and help us all grow spiritually. This is hard to accomplish in a twenty minute sermon! When I prepare for preaching each week's sermon I quickly realize that I acquire more information than I can reasonably use in the sermon given the time parameters. Do you think it would be a good idea to utilize this information in the form of a weekly study guide? After developing my sermon each week, I could write a short study guide that will share more in-depth information surrounding the sermon theme and content. This could be written up in a format that allows you to use the study guide in your daily devotions. If this is something you think is a good idea and one that you would find helpful, please respond by taking this short, 7-question survey.

New Small Group!

A new Small Group will be starting in June. Starting Monday June 13th. A Walking Group will meet at 7:00 PM at the Ann Street parking lot of the church. The group will walk about two miles in approximately an hour at a comfortable pace so that everyone can participate in the group. These will not be power or brisk type of walking. We will walk along sidewalks of streets in the Borough of Stroudsburg or along easy trails such as the Brodhead Creek greenway. So get out your favorite pair of walking shoes and come out for some fun, exercise, and companionship. For more information contract C.J. Penwell.

Teachers are equipped to teach, lead, and challenge you on your faith journey and you will surely be affected in very positive ways when you attend Sunday School. Children meet in the Wee Care Room, Youth meet in the Youth Room, and Adults meet in the Lounge. Give it a try this Sunday at 9:45pm!

Small Groups

Do you belong to a Small Group? If not, you really should seriously consider doing so. There are a variety of opportunities available which you can see on our website here. You will be able to see brief description of each Small Group, view when and where they meet, and see if there are openings to join the groups. Check out our active Small Groups and consider joining one of them. Alternatively, do you have a passion or interest? Then maybe you can start a brand new Small Group. Contact JoAnn Calkins or Pastor Bob for more information.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study - 10am

Would like an opportunity to explore and study the Bible a little more seriously? If so, then the Wednesday morning Bible Study is right up your alley! This group meets weekly to dig deeper into the Bible. We will be starting a brand new study on the Book of Mark this week. Participants are being asked to read the first chapter of Mark and write down questions that pop into their mind regarding this chapter. Any question is fair game and we will base our discussion on the questions we receive. You are welcome to join us as we work through the Book of Mark and discover if any of his words might apply to our lives today. Join us this week or any week for Bible study!

Make a Difference!

Book Sale

The Book Sale being held on Saturday, April 30th benefits the Missions Committee. Bring a friend or family member to see the vast collection of books that are available for purchase. It is quite a vacinating collection! The Book Sale will start at 9am downstairs.

Give to a Mission

A variety of missions are supported in our church. You can make a difference both locally and around the world by giving to these missions. A list of missions we support is available in the back of the sanctuary. You can also suggest a new mission that interests you by providing the name and address of the mission, as well as some details about what this particular misson does.

Membership & Evangelism is organizing the Nursery to be staffed during worship at 11am on Sundays. If you are willing to volunteer to staff the nusery, please contact one of the M&E members or call the church office (570-421-6020). All volunteers must go through a child abuse and criminal background check. This is required as part of our Safe Sanctuaries Policy to ensure that the children are protected and also to put new parents' minds at ease. Please consider helping this important ministry!

My Brothers Keepers

My Brothers Keepers Quilting Group meets this week on Thursday at 10am in the Dining Room. This is an active group that makes a difference through their skills in quiliting! Join the group on Thursday morning and help to make a difference!

Digging Deeper Small Group

The Digging Deeper Small Group meets on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. They will be starting a new video series entitled, "Keep Climbing: Why God Doesn't Give You Everything You Want." This specific theme goes hand-in-hand with the second sermon in our current series, "God in the Movies: Bruce Almighty." This Small Group exists to dig deeper into our faith and grow spiritually. We do this through study, sharing our stories and experiences with each other, and hold each other up in love and mutual accountability. You can join this Small Group by emailing the leader, Pastor Bob, or calling the church office.
