The menu includes Pot Roast, Carrots, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Terrific Tuesday Salad, Rolls & Butter, and Dessert. Cost is $7.00/person. Children under 10 - $3.00. Maundy Thursday Worship - 7:30pm

Maundy Thursday worship will begin in the Sanctuary at 7:30pm. This short worship experience will feature special music from the choir and a sermon entitled, "How Many Times is Enough?" This sermon will explore how many cups of wine did Jesus really bless that Holy Thursday night, and how many times should a believer have holy communion. We will then be dismissed in groups of eleven to share in an Upper Room communion as we re-live the Last Supper. Please join us for this special worship experience and bring a friend or neighbor!

Cross Walk - 11am

The Stroudsburg churches traditionally host a Cross Walk to remember the journey Jesus made to the cross. We will begin at St. John's Lutheran Church on 9th Street at 11am. Then we will walk to several churches and hear the events unfold as Jesus made his journey to the cross. The final destination will be our very own church, Stroudsburg United Methodist Church. Join us for this humbling journey.

Good Friday Worship - 12:00pm

Immediately after the Cross Walk, at about noon, we will offer a worship experience on the events of Good Friday. This time of worship will feature some reflective thoughts on what Jesus went through on that dark Friday. You will also have the opportunity to ponder what the cross means for you personally.

Easter Sunrise Worship - 7:00am

Our youth and Dave Berryman will host a special Easter Sunrise worship experience again this year. This is a great way to start your Easter Sunday! Bring a friend and enjoy this outdoor worship experience in Ann Street Park, right across from our parking lot. Support the youth by attending this worship service and start your Easter celebration off right!

Easter Sunday Worship - 8:30am, 11:00am, 3:00pm

Easter Sunday is one of the best attended worship experiences throughout the world. Join us at Stroudsburg United Methodist Church for a special Easter Celebration. Worship will include inspiring music, an opportunity to hear the wonderful story of the Resurrection, and an engagin sermon on "Christ the Victor." This is definitely one worship experience you don't want to miss. Invite a friend and your family members to join us for worship this Easter. Each bulletin will also have a special postcard featuring our upcoming sermon series on "God in the Movies."

Upcoming Sermon Series

Our upcoming Sermon Series will be different, fun, and spiritually engaging! The sermons after Easter Sunday will focus on God is in the movies--some recent and some from years ago. We will see some clips from these movies and talk about what we see. This should offer an exciting and engaging way for us to talk about important theological issues regarding our relationship with God in today's terms. The sermon series will also be an easy way for us to ask important religious questions in non-threatening and even non-churchy ways. Help us spread the word about our upcoming sermon series: God in the Movies.

Grow!

New Small Group!

A new Small Group will be starting in June. Starting Monday June 13th. A Walking Group will meet at 7:00 PM at the Ann Street parking lot of the church. The group will walk about two miles in approximately an hour at a comfortable pace so that everyone can participate in the group. These will not be power or brisk type of walking. We will walk along sidewalks of streets in the Borough of Stroudsburg or along easy trails such as the Brodhead Creek greenway. So get out your favorite pair of walking shoes and come out for some fun, exercise, and companionship. For more information contract C.J. Penwell.

Any Interest in a Daily Study Guide?

Some churches use a part of their bulletin for worshippers to take notes during the sermon. One of our goals in worship is to teach new ideas and help us all grow spiritually. This is hard to accomplish in a twenty minute sermon! When I prepare for preaching each week's sermon I quickly realize that I acquire more information than I can reasonably use in the sermon given the time parameters. Do you think it would be a good idea to utilize this information in the form of a weekly study guide? After developing my sermon each week, I could write a short study guide that will share more in-depth information surrounding the sermon theme and content. This could be written up in a format that allows you to use the study guide in your daily devotions. If this is something you think is a good idea and one that you would find helpful, please respond by taking this short, 7-question survey.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study - 10am

Would like an opportunity to explore and study the Bible a little more seriously? If so, then the Wednesday morning Bible Study is right up your alley! This group meets weekly to dig deeper into the Bible. We will be starting a brand new study on the Book of Mark this week. Participants are being asked to read the first chapter of Mark and write down questions that pop into their mind regarding this chapter. Any question is fair game and we will base our discussion on the questions we receive. You are welcome to join us as we work through the Book of Mark and discover if any of his words might apply to our lives today. Join us this week or any week for Bible study!

Make a Difference!

Give to a Mission

A variety of missions are supported in our church. You can make a difference both locally and around the world by giving to these missions. A list of missions we support is available in the back of the sanctuary. You can also suggest a new mission that interests you by providing the name and address of the mission, as well as some details about what this particular misson does.

Nursery

Membership & Evangelism is organizing the Nursery to be staffed during worship at 11am on Sundays. If you are willing to volunteer to staff the nusery, please contact one of the M&E members or call the church office (570-421-6020). All volunteers must go through a child abuse and criminal background check. This is required as part of our Safe Sanctuaries Policy to ensure that the children are protected and also to put new parents' minds at ease. Please consider helping this important ministry!

My Brothers Keepers

My Brothers Keepers Quilting Group meets this week on Thursday at 10am in the Dining Room. This is an active group that makes a difference through their skills in quiliting! Join the group on Thursday morning and help to make a difference!

Stitch & Pray Small Group

The Stitch & Pray Small Group is meeting on Wednesday at 2pm. This very active small group knits or crochets prayer shawls that extend our powerful prayer ministry in tangible ways to those who need our prayers. The prayer shawls are delivered to those persons going through tough times with their health and serve as a comforting reminder that they are being prayed for every day. For more information on how to join this small group or to provide names of those who could benefit by receiving a prayer shawl, please call the church office (570-421-6020).

Red Bucket Donations

The Missions Committee encourages you to place donations in the Red Buckets to benefit the DASH Youth Group Mission Trip.

Book Drive

Don't forget the book drive. Please bring your books to the church. There is a box in the Fellowship Room and the Blue Sunday School Room downstairs.
